Welcome to our “second” drop…which includes a lot of my vintage collection.
For more than 25 years I have been collecting an eclectic group that includes Victorian jewelry…my first love, American made costume and copper jewelry by the American artist Frank Rebajes and all who followed after him using copper as their main metal in jewelry making. I also have always loved American Trifari jewelry, Native American and Mexican silver jewelry as well as ethnographic and ceremonial jewelry especially from India.
All of these types of jewelry dating back from the 1800s (Victorian) to designs made today are about adornment, sentimentality, and the ability to make someone feel special or more beautiful. Jewelry changes a mood, an outfit. It has the power to transform both the maker and the recipient of the jewelry. The great artist Alexander Calder made the most beautiful hand made jewelry. With a pair of pliers and a piece of wire, he could create magic. Most of his pieces were love offerings to his wife and close friends.
If I could ever make or collect jewelry with this type of impact I would be thrilled. It is a continual goal for me as a jewelry designer and collector.
I also want to thank everyone that bought or contacted me after the first group we launched eight days before X-mas. It meant the world to me and in these crazy, insecure times any encouragement or support goes a long way…so thank you. It was also so nice to hear from so many people I have not been in touch with for quite some time.
Hoping for positive change, health, and good riddance to covid. Please, everyone, wear a mask!!
